You may have been very active in another church and need a rest.
You may be uncertain if this is the right church for you.
That is fine by us! At some point though, you may wish become more involved.
At MCC Newcastle, we believe in “the priesthood of all believers.” That means we believe that every single person has gifts and skills and so every person can be active in the life of the church, serving God and God’s people:
- not just a special few
- not just the pastor
We mean everyone!
What you choose to get involved with will depend on what interests you and what gifts and skills you want to share.
Some people at MCC Newcastle are “out” about their sexuality, some people have to be more careful. Whatever your circumstances, we hope that you will find something that is right for you! There are a wide variety of activities at MCC Newcastle. Some take place every week, such as worship. Others happen monthly or on an occasional basis. We believe that every single person has gifts and skills that God gave them, so different people will be suited to different ministries. Below you can see some information about MCCN's various ministry teams.

Set Up Team.
In a nutshell: Arriving first and leaving last, putting out colourful cushions, setting up audio-visual equipment, decorating the church with flags and banners, making sure everything is in the right place for worship!
Commitment: Once or twice a month.

Welcome Team.
In a nutshell: Arrive early, greet and welcome members, friends and visitors at the door. Make sure everyone is comfortable.
Commitment: Once or twice a month.
Spiritual gifts involved: Hospitality, discernment, service.
Commitment: Once or twice a month.

Hospitality Team.
In a nutshell: Making tea and coffee and delivering it with a smile!
Commitment: As needed.

Office Angels.
In a nutshell: Work in the church office, help Church Administrator keep on top of admin!
Commitment: Once a week.

Prayer Ministry Team.
In a nutshell: Receive list of prayer requests through email or post, pray regularly for individuals and the church. Offer one-to-one prayer when needed.
Commitment: Pray every week.

Worship Team.
In a nutshell: Making worship work! Musicians, preachers, readers, service leaders, celebrants and technicians.
Commitment: As required (usually once a month)
