Stewardship
Stewardship means two things. It means “looking after” something or someone. It also can mean “making best use of”. At MCC Newcastle, we believe that stewardship is important in both senses.
We believe that every single person has gifts and skills that God gave them. We encourage people to use these in the different ministries of the church. Everyone has different gifts, so different people will be suited to different ministries. To help people find the right ministry for them, we help them to think about:
Spiritual gifts – these are mentioned in scripture, especially by Paul in his letters
Heart – what the person has a passion for
Aptitude – what they are good at
Personality – some of us are introvert, others extravert, some like working along, others like being in a team
Experience – we come with many different life stories which make us who we are today.
These are just some of the ministry areas at MCC Newcastle

As well as our gifts and skills, we also have resources to offer. The role of the Board of Directors is to make sure that we use our resources wisely, including our financial resources. Many people give generously to MCC Newcastle and we want to be good stewards, looking after this money wisely.
Another important area of “looking after” people and resources wisely is to have good policies in place. On the links from this page, you can see MCC Newcastle’s policies.
