Small Groups at MCC Newcastle
We have a variety of small groups, some happen every month, such as Movies with Mikee. Others are seasonal, such as Lent or Advent discussion groups.
Here are some of the small groups that we have had over the past 12 months. See the home page to see what is happening this month!
The Good Book Club is for those of us who perhaps used to do bible study, but haven’t done it for a long time, or for those of us who would like to know our bible a bit better. Come, read and discuss scripture in a relaxed way. We decide together as a group what we would like to study. Some of us even offer to lead the group from time to time
Movies with Mikee is an opportunity to watch a (secular) film together and then discuss the theological themes that emerge – even if the movie makers didn’t have God in mind! This event is a “moveable feast” so check the calendar each month to see if the popcorn maker is on.
Creating A Life that Matters (CLM) – this is a year long course that looks at three aspects of our faith journey: Rediscovering Relationship with the Sacred Rediscovering Relationship with Myself
Rediscovering Relationship with My Passion. The sessions happen in six week blocks and there are reflections and homework in between. It is an intense and highly rewarding course to participate in.
Art and God – come and express your creative side! We have explored our experience of God through music, poetry, painting, landscape art and by being creative ourselves.
We have also had Enquirers classes for those who would like to know more about MCC Newcastle and Metropolitan Community Churches worldwide, as well as Membership classes, for those who want to make a formal commitment to MCC Newcastle
