The Rev. Elder Cecilia Eggleston was elected as MCC Newcastle's first ordained Pastor on the 30th Sept 07.
Cecilia comes
to us with a wealth of experience both within UFMCC and the community development
field. This includes:
Working in different countries, cultures and languages, leadership development,
spiritual development, strategic planning and delivery, consensus building,
community development and church administration.
Cecilia served as interim pastor with MCC Newcastle from Nov 2006 until June 2007. Her last worship service was at our Pride Service on the 24th June 2007.
During her time as interim Cecilia undertook the following activities amongst numerous others:
Representing MCC Newcastle at the National Holocaust Memorial Day Commemorative event at the Theatre Royal, Newcastle, where she spoke on behalf of the LGBT community.

She has argued the pro-gay adoption debate in the Northern press!
Cecilia has also managed to confine the church leadership into one room for a study day! Where we discussed the different ways we see the world and how that can strengthen the ministry of the Church.
She established a team structure for creating the Worship Space and a fantastic Welcome.
She got lost loads!
Cecilia organised and ran our 'Blue Christmas Service'
Chaired Board meetings.
All this and she commuted fortnightly from her home in Bath, Somerset.
